For Navajos, we use Cedar when we're smudging ourselves…When I smudge, I talk about it in Navajo, it means beauty walks before me. Beauty walks behind me, and beauty walks on the sides of me. And what we're trying to say is that when we're praying for ourselves, we're praying for our whole body, and we're praying for those around us and those within our area.
